Let me ask you something… When was the last time you walked away from something that you wanted to work? If that question instantly created a lump in the back of your throat, listen, I get it. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to walk away from a relationship or situation that’s no longer serving you. But it’s also one of the most important steps you can take for your growth – in your personal life and your career. Usually, the signs are already there. You just have to turn the blinders off in order to see them. At the end of the day, you don’t get a prize for “sticking it out.” In fact, doing so could actually be detrimental to your relationships, life, business and most importantly, your peace of mind. For me, I saw this to be true when I broke up with a client. Holding onto any type of relationship, including working relationships, that are no longer the right fit in hopes it will “get better” is only hurting you and them. Saying "yes" to one thing is actually causing you to say "no" to something else. Everything has a cost. I’ve made this mistake myself (more than once, actually). The story sounded a little something like this: I remember feeling so hopeful something would shift when I took on this client. I saw the potential, and I believed in the possibilities of what we could accomplish together. But if I was being honest with myself, after a few weeks (let alone months), it was clear that they were not ready to do what needed to be done in order to get the outcome they were looking for. And after six months had passed, nothing had changed. Sound familiar? Here’s one of the hardest truths to accept: YOU AREN'T HERE TO FIX ANYONE.And it doesn’t always work out as planned. You may have the best intentions, only to find out it was never the right fit to begin with. That’s okay. You get to choose where this goes next. You’re the CEO of your life and business, after all.And this is why it’s essential you don’t get so caught up in the doing, that you forget about BEING… · Being the leader you know you’re capable of being. · Being brave enough to connect with your truth and carve your own path. · Being the business owner you, your team and your clients deserve. So, if you’ve been looking for a sign that it’s time to let go of that relationship or situation, that’s no longer serving you and your business, this is it. There’s never going to be a perfect time. But if you want to continue to grow and evolve into your most joyful, empowered self in 2022, and attract more of the right clients with ease and grace, it starts right now - with letting go of the wrong ones.
