This might be an unpopular opinion… But I’m going to say it anyway. The manifestation trend is failing you and your business. Hear me out… The problem with manifestation is that it’s rooted in control and lack. It’s about learning how to control your thoughts and beliefs, while focusing on what you do not have. And this often manifests into a desire to control your life and your business, in the way you think it “should” be. But we don’t achieve our dreams and become our highest self from a place of control and lack. It happens from a place of surrender and gratitude.🙏 In other words, there’s a big difference between forced action and inspired action. The energy behind forced action is rooted in fear and misalignment, stemming from 'toxic masculinity'. This is where the glorified hustle culture stems from. It’s the old school way of approaching business and self-development, commonly preached by icons like veterans like Tony Robbins and Gary Vee. When you’re coming from a place of forced action, you have your head down and your blinders up. Your to-do list is never-ending. You’re constantly on the go. Inspired action, on the other hand, is about moving slower and turning inwards. It’s about listening to your intuition and keeping your eyes open to the possibilities of where you path will go next – even when it’s not part of the plan. Inspired action is about doing less and achieving more. While you’re moving slower, you actually end up growing faster because you’re taking the right steps, in the right order. You end up taking a short cut you never would have noticed if you had your head down and your dials turned on full speed ahead. So, how can you tell when you’re taking inspired action versus forced action? You have to dig a little deeper and listen to what your body is telling you. When I’m stuck in action mode, it doesn’t feel right. My anxiety is high, and I’m often overcome with feelings of unease and insecurity. I might even find myself experiencing signs of depression. But when I’m coming from a place of inspired action, I feel super connected to myself and my clients. My mind feels better, my work feels aligned to my purpose and values. And I actually find myself making more money. It’s a beautiful place to be.✨ This is why the hustle culture needs to go. And it’s why I’m encouraging you to re-assess the way you approach manifestation in business (and in life). The process isn’t easy. It can get pretty uncomfortable at times to embrace this state of uncertainty. 🤔 In many ways, it’s like driving down a country road at night. You can see just enough of the road in front of you to feel confident you’re still heading in the right direction. And while you know what your destination is, you don’t know exactly how the route will look like along the way. You have to have faith and trust that you’ll get to where you’re meant to go. Quick - Think of someone whose inner circle you’d like to be a part of. Someone you follow or admire… someone you’d love to go for a cocktail with. Now, what is it that makes you want to be their friend? Is it their always-camera-ready hair? 💁 Their straight-off-the-runway style? 👠 Is it their Pinterest-worthy home décor? 🏠 Maybe it’s their dreamy business. The online platform they’ve created. Or their adorable dog named “Lulu.” 🐶 You may aspire to be just like them. But what really makes you want to follow them, hang out with them, and maybe even date them, likely comes down to one thing: Their ENERGY! It’s the energy they bring that makes you feel inspired every time you’re around them. ✨ Suddenly, you feel like you can make bold moves in your business, or like you can walk away from the toxic relationship that’s no longer serving you. 🔥 It’s like you become your BEST SELF when you’re in their presence. You notice a difference in your mood, the way you see the world, and the expectations you have of yourself. Maybe you even see it in your bank account. 💰💰💰 It’s no secret you are highly influenced by the people you spend the most time with. 💯 You adopt their perspectives and beliefs, and their subconscious patterns, judgements and stories influence your own. This is why, when it comes to choosing your inner circle, you need to channel your inner Oprah and Gayle. After all, your inner circle gets intimate access to your life, and you should think carefully about who you let in. ⚠️ WARNING: Our friends can also reinforce our bad patterns. We vent to them about everything that’s wrong with the world, and in return, they reinforce these negative thought patterns. ⚠️ ❌ You don’t need another friend who’s going to engage while you complain about the job you hate or how you’re living paycheck to paycheck 💵 ✔️ You need someone who’s going to call you on your shit. (Even when you don’t want to hear it.) ✔️ You need someone who refuses to allow you to stay in your blind spots and limiting beliefs. Instead, they’re willing to point out when you’re not living as your best self, and offer guidance and support in your journey. And then, you need to learn how to be that person for someone else. How can you become the one they think of when they opened this email? The one whose inner circle they want to join? You have to do the inner work. How do you go about that? Well, you can start by downloading this free workbook featuring The 5 Minute Trigger Strategy. It’s available for a limited time only, so don’t wait to get your hands on a copy. xo, Vanessa
