5 tips to find more time in your day

How are you really spending your time?

If there’s one lesson I learned early on in my business it’s this: there’s always more time.
Too often, as women and as professionals, we fall down the slippery slope of feeling like there’s “never enough time in the day”.
Picture
I used to wake up full of anxiety, running through all of the tasks on my to-do list and feeling this internal sense of urgency to do everything right now.

➡️ Write the email.
➡️ Post to social media.
➡️ Book the client call.
➡️ Catch up on that course you’re taking
➡️ Write a chapter of your book.
➡️ Update your website.
➡️ Finish your taxes.
➡️ Register for the yoga class.
➡️ Pick the kids up from school.
➡️ Feed the cat.
It all sounds so… exhausting. 😫

Let’s be honest: living in this state of constant chaos isn’t doing you any favours.

If you want to make meaningful progress, you need to channel the powers of focus and prioritization.

  1. Track your time. When was the last time you actually tracked how much time you spend on various tasks throughout your workday? Consider using a time tracker app like Toggl for a week and see what you discover.

  2. Prioritize your to-do list. Try following the rule of three. Look at your goals for the month ahead, then pick three key focuses for the next 30 days. That’s right, only three. These should be the most important, needle-moving priorities in your life and business.

  3. Delegate and outsource. Now that you’ve tracked your time and have determined your most important tasks, make a list of the tasks that do not need to be completed by you. These could be projects that fall outside your zone of genius, or tasks you simply do not enjoy doing. Find someone who can do them for you at a lower cost than what you invest in doing them yourself.

  4. Simplify. Ask yourself: what’s the simplest path to success here? Too often, we end up overcomplicating things in our business, feeling like we have to be everywhere and do everything. A little goes a long way. Find the path of least resistance, and follow it.

  5. Shift your mindset. You know I wouldn’t share a list without a mindset tip, right? Try shifting your mindset away from “not enough time” and towards “abundant time.” Repeat after me: I have all the time I need to get this done.

Once you start truly believing in an abundance of time, you’ll attract more of it. Suddenly, you’ll find yourself feeling much more productive, without being weighed down by overwhelm and procrastination.
Looking for more ways to take back control of your time? Watch my Do Less, Achieve More workshop created just for you. Carve out the time now so you can learn to attract abundance and create more time.
Don’t just take my word for it. Give it a try for yourself!
